It was a pleasure to meet you and talk about the progress we are making with the renovation/restoration planning.  Dale Chihuly is a great idea!
I&#039;m not sure if the dome structures can hold it all up there – but where there&#039;s will, there&#039;s a way.  We could also consider installing it in the two side rooms of the Rotunda. It think we have more structural support there.

I am very happy to be involved with the Gibbes.

Thanks for allowing me to rubberneck Tuesday afternoon and for your patient response to this former museum director&#039;s questions. To follow up our brief discussion about the load bearing capacity of the floor in the rotunda, I&#039;m now equally curious about the ability of the dome itself to support a hanging work of art. I occasionally find myself dreaming of a fabulous Dale Chihuly piece suspended from that dome—maybe one of his sea-inspired creations, totally appropriate for Charleston. It may never happen, but one can dream.

At any rate, your work is inspiring us all and we&#039;re very grateful that you agreed to help!
