The crowd for the Brian Rutenberg opening reception and preview was as colorful as the incredible works on view. It was clear that the lingering excitement from Brian’s lecture the night before brought back many enthusiasts to enjoy another evening full of festivities and, of course, Brian and his wife Katie’s charming presence.

After members enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and wine all graciously provided by Gibbes, etc., Brian led an illuminating tour of the highly acclaimed exhibition inspired by the beautiful vistas of the Lowcountry.  Guests also enjoyed previewing the lovely photographs included in the exhibition Daufuskie Island: Photographs by Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe.

Be sure to mark your calendars for January 21, 2010 to join the Gibbes for our next opening reception and preview of Lure of the Lowcountry, mixed-media photographs by John Folsom and Whistler’s Travels, etchings and lithographs by James McNeill Whistler.  This reception is for members only—click  here to join the Gibbes.
