Art of Design Auction: Carin Habenstreit

Commissioned Portrait by Carin Habenstreit

Commissioned portrait, 20 x 16 inch oil on canvas, by Carin Habenstreit
Value: $5,000 / Opening bid: $2,500

Capture a loved-one at a moment in time! Ms. Hebenstreit, a European-born portrait artist, has studied abroad at the Prado, among other venues. Her evocative portraits result from her technique, influenced by the Renaissance masters, of incorporating glazing layers of paint over her underpainting to produce luminosity and richness of color. Her work is featured in fine art galleries and many public spaces in Cincinnati, as well as in private collections across the country.
