Richard Yeadon

Artist: Unknown
Date: ca. 1790

Yeadon was a Charleston silversmith. The portrait, probably painted between 1790-1795, is striking in several respects, including the intense gaze, powdered hair, full eyelashes and colorful waistcoat. In addition, the lighting is dramatic.
