John Huger II

Artist: Fraser, Charles
Date: 1820

This especially fine portrait is reminiscent of Malbone's Charleston miniatures, particularly in its use of a bright blue sky with gray clouds and in the careful delineation of the face - the slight scowl, the wrinkle to the right of Huger's mouth, and the cleft chin.
