The son of James Reid Pringle, John McPherson Pringle was studying medicine in Paris when he contracted influenza and died. He's shown in fashionable dress with a wide black collar and cravat, making it an interesting likeness. Fraser charged $40 for this miniature in 1834, as listed in his account book.
