James Reid Pringle

James Reid Pringle was born in Charleston and was active in local government, including a year as mayor of Charleston from 1830-1831. Fraser included a view of Castle Pinckney in Charleston's harbor to the right of the sitter, a nod to his work as Collector of the Port for a number of years.
