Reverend George Strobel

Artist: Strobel, Louisa C. (Mrs. Benjamin Martin )
Date: ca. 1830

Reverend Strobel was the brother of the artist. Upon his return from France he became a Catholic priest. As in the portraits of his brother and father, here the technique is minutely detailed in the face and hair while the coat and background are more broadly brushed.
