Afternoon Tea (A Cup of Tea, Dorothy Thomson Waring)

Artist: Waring, Leila
Date: 1923

Waring did not conceive of this work as a portrait but, in the vein of the Impressionists, has depicted a domestic scene of daily life. Stronger, richer colors have been employed here and, together with the activity of making tea, contribute to an interesting composition.
