Engleheart's account book records several male sitters with the name Ord (sic). In 1794 a Miss Ogilvy sat for a portrait which may in fact be this one. It is contained in an elaborate two-sided ivory patch box. The portrait has the wistful expression so typical of Engleheart's work, combined with especially spontaneous brushwork.
