Colonel William Thomson

Artist: Savage, Edward
Date: ca. 1790

Known as "Old Danger," Thomson was active in the Rangers during the Cherokee War and against the British during the attack on Sullivan's Island in 1776. In 1778 he was commissioned in the militia of Orangeburg and in 1780 he was held prisoner by the British. He also served in the state senate for six terms.
