Kaufman served as assistant rector at St. Philip's Church from 1837-1839 before his death at a young age. Fraser has succeeded in attaining a warm likeness. The crisp delineation of the clerical collar and the wash highlights on the robe enhance the realism of the portait. Fraser received $40 for this miniature.
