The summer heat was at its height in Charleston, but it was a refreshing, colorful evening at the Gibbes for the preview and opening reception of Ancestry and Innovation. Hosted by the Women’s Council, the reception proved to be an enlightening and fun-filled gathering for members, fellows, artists, and students. While the brilliantly displayed works on view took center stage at the reception, the other crowd pleasers could be found on the first floor of the museum.

The ladies of the Women’s Council created a stir among guests with their sought after recipes. The hit of the evening was a Bombay Cheese Dip, a tradition for the Women’s Council in years past.

Always guaranteed to be an evening filled with interesting discussion and familiar faces within the Charleston community, an opening reception at the Gibbes is an event not to be missed.
