Amy Jones Abbe has trained and worked as a sculpture and objects conservator for more than 15 years in museums and institutions in the Northeast including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and the American Museum of Natural History. She now owns a private conservation studio in Athens, Georgia, and will be working onsite at the Gibbes on several marble sculptures in the Museum's permanent collection, including the recently-acquired
Mending the Nets, 1866, by Chauncey Bradley Ives (American, 1810-1894).
