Have you ever dreamed of having your own art collection, but didn’t know where to begin? From limited finances to a saturated market, we know it can seem like a daunting undertaking. Join Society 1858 on Wednesday, August 11 at 5:30PM at the Gibbes Museum where long-time Gibbes Museum of Art board member Michele Seekings, Partner at Spire Art Services, and Alex Waggoner, former Gibbes Visiting Artist will offer guidance in navigating this process of discovery. This event will take place in the Ruth and Bill Baker Art Sales Gallery where Waggoner’s current exhibition Habit Forming will be on display and where pieces are available for purchase. Building an art collection is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s about learning to love the beauty of the pieces around you—whether they come from a prized gallery or a local consignment shop. It’s also about building up a portfolio of collected works that add value to you, your family and your community. We hope you’ll join us for this special event. After the talk, join Society 1858 members for a drink at Bin152 where you can learn how to become a member. This event is SOLD OUT.
