Art to Go is an in-school outreach program that pairs teaching artists with classroom teachers to create unique works of art inspired by exhibitions at the Gibbes. Students from Hunley Park Elementary School, Angel Oak Elementary School, and North Charleston High School participated this year and will display their work at the Gibbes for a celebratory exhibition. They were inspired by works in the permanent collection as well as the artists featured in
Tabitha Vevers: Lover's Eyes as well as
A Return to the Grand Tour: Micromosaic Jewels from the Collection of Elizabeth Locke and
Central to Their Lives: Southern Women Artists in the Johnson Collection.
This program is sponsored in part by the Jerry and Anita Zucker Family Endowment, the Gibbes Women's Council, the South Carolina Arts Commission, and Wells Fargo.
