In February 1722, Mark Catesby set sail on a three-month voyage to the Lowcountry of South Carolina. Catesby spent four years exploring the natural habitats of the southeast colonies and the Bahamas. This film documents the life and work of the 18th-century naturalist, scientist, and artist, on his exploration of the New World. After the film, please join us for a curator-led tour of Artist, Scientist, Explorer: Mark Catesby in the Carolinas with Pam Wall, Curator of Exhibitions, at 2:30pm. Runtime: 53 minutes Free with Museum admission
