Garden Concert Series: Women & Sam Cooke
The Gibbes Museum partners with the Charleston Music Hall to bring outstanding live music performances to the Lenhardt Garden. Bring a picnic and a lawn chair and arrive early to find a spot – or reserve a premium table – and enjoy a plein-air performance under the setting sun. Cash bar available on site*.
The Women & series is the brainchild of local musicians Lindsay Holler and Hazel Ketchum. This show will consist of a 90 minute set with a variety of vocalists paying homage to the late American singer, songwriter, and civil-rights activist Sam Cooke.
Featured singers include Zandrina Dunning, Aisha Kenyetta, Christian Smalls, Exavia Baxter, Hazel Ketchum, and Lindsay Holler; with band members Ron Wiltrout on drums, George Baerreis on bass; Tyler Ross on guitar, and Sam Sfirri on keyboard.
Doors open at 5:30 with an opening performance by students from the Allegro Charter School of Music;
Women & Sam Cooke begins at 6:30pm for a 90 minute set. Tickets include Museum admission.

There will be a limited number of tickets for sale at the door. Additionally, a limited number of chairs will be available for rent at the event for $5 on a first-come, first-serve basis.
