Inspired by Lying in Wait: Sporting Art by Ogden PleissnerJoin Coastal Expeditions owner Chris Crolley on a special birding and naturalizing boat tour into the Charleston Harbor at sunset on Saturday, March 30. Departing from the Coastal Expeditions dock, we’ll set out to see birds that Odgen Pleissner would have observed and painted during his time on the eastern seaboard and in South Carolina like clapper rail, black skimmers, ruddy turnstones and Eastern brown pelicans. As dusk descends on the rivers that come together to form the Charleston Harbor, we’ll watch ibises and egrets return to their roosts and clapper rails nestle into the marsh grass. Night herons will set out for their nocturnal hunt and black skimmers will gracefully fish along the edges of the tidal creeks. $40 Adults Departure Location
