Illustration Workshop for Ages 8-10: Visual Storytelling
Author, illustrator & educator Clare Pernice will share a behind the scenes look at visual storytelling. Participants will explore the world of book art and design, discover different illustration styles and practice drawing in a variety of mediums. Taking a classic or favorite story they will sketch scenes with characters, perspective, setting and atmosphere using their imagination and individual style. Then complete a final original narrative illustration.

About Clare: Clare Pernice is the Saturday Stories presenter and children’s programs consultant for the Museum of Illustration at the Society of Illustrators in Manhattan, NY. Clare teaches their illustration workshops for children and also teaches at The Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston, SC.
