Class meets on Wednesdays August 7, 14, and 21 from 6-8pm
This class with Stephen Herchak offers an introduction to the basics of drawing the head, body and limbs to accurately portray an entire human figure. Students will work with charcoal while standing at an easel from a live nude* model using both quick observation sketches of numerous poses as well as longer more detailed studies. Students will gain basic skills in proportions and spatial relationships in drawing and acquire the knowledge and confidence to render the human figure more convincingly through better understanding of weight, tension and mass of a living, dynamic subject different from still life. Charcoal can be messy; please dress accordingly. $150 Members | $175 Non-Members Suggested Supplies: 18x24 newsprint (pad); 18x24 medium weight and surface drawing paper (1-2 sheets); soft charcoal (several sticks); medium compressed charcoal (several sticks); kneaded eraser; art gum eraser; chamois cloth patch *Please note: There will be a live nude model at all sessions.
