Join artist Meredith Connelly at the Gibbes Museum of Art for a special talk presented by the Gibbes and the Charleston Parks Conservancy about her latest installation, Mushrooms, currently on view in Hampton Park. Visitors to the museum in recent months will recall Connelly's popup installation Snails in the Gibbes Museum Art Sales Gallery, which previewed her unique light installations.

On Saturday, November 19 at 3:30PM, the artist will return to the Gibbes on the occasion of her full-scale installation, Mushrooms, in Hampton Park, organized by the Charleston Parks Conservancy. After the talk, guests are invited to join the artist at dusk in Hampton Park to see the light installation in action.

Mushrooms, an illuminated site-based installation, consists of more than 100 hand-sculpted illuminated mushrooms using a heavy-duty thermoplastic. The installation components range in height from 8 to 12 inches and will be integrated into the natural setting of the popular Charleston park resulting in an immersive and interactive experience for all ages. Mushrooms will be on view to the public November 5th - December 11th.
