Gibbes Museum of Art

Saturday, May 8 from 11am-1pm
Come learn the art of punch needle with local artist, Daisy McClellan. While this traditional embroidery technique has been around for centuries it has recently come back in a big and modern way in the crafting community. Daisy will teach you everything you need to know to get started with this meditative and relaxing craft. Beginners are welcome – no experience is required, and all materials included. You’ll learn about the best supplies to get started, how to thread a punch needle, stretch a frame, draw your own design to fabric, how to punch, as well as tips and tricks for turning your piece into a wall hanging, pillow, purse, trivet, and more. This two-hour class includes all the materials so you get to go home with the tools to continue with future punch needle projects. You’ll either finish the 9-inch circle piece in class or if you don’t you will have all the skills/materials to finish it at home. $150 Members | $180 Non-Member
