Join teaching artist Janell Walker Smalls for this fun morning of artmaking. William H. Johnson created artworks from his own life, in country and city settings. Each of his works of art also tells a story through shapes, colors, objects, and activities.
Inspired by our current exhibition
Fighters for Freedom: William H. Johnson Picturing Justice, Young artists will have a choice of creating a country or city scene (a landscape or cityscape.) using multiple materials of their choice such as acrylic paints, oil pastels, water colors and more.
All materials are included, but students are encouraged to bring a water bottle and a snack.
All students are required to wear a face covering while inside the classroom.
