Join us as we celebrate visiting artist Kristy Bishop with a closing reception. This event is free and open to the public. A fiber artist focused on weaving, natural dyeing, surface design, and historically-inspired costume, Kristy Bishop lives and works in Charleston and has participated in artist residencies at the city of North Charleston in 2012-2013 and at 701 CCA in 2015. At the Gibbes, she has been weaving tapestries inspired by fabrics depicted in objects on view in the Black Refractions exhibition. Support for our Visiting Artist Series is generously provided by Art Bridges, Art Mag, SC Arts Commission, and the Henry and Sylvia Yaschik Foundation.
