Campers will explore Pan American Modernism: Avant-Garde Art in Latin America and the United States and focus on the many ways to create portraits. From cubism to surrealism and beyond, campers will experiment with different techniques and mediums.

Winter Camp for Ages 9-14
Thursday, December 28Friday, December 29These sessions include gallery visits, lots of sketching, and studio time. Students will find inspiration from artists in the Gibbes collection and current exhibits, including Pan American Modernism: Avant-Garde Art in Latin America and the United States, as they work towards finding their own voice using a variety of media: pencil, ink, paint, and collage. Emphasis on self-study and art appreciation in a supportive and fun environment.
All sessions are offered from 9-12pm (half day) or 9am-4pm (full day). Tuition includes all supplies and Museum admission and a snack. Full-day campers need to bring a bagged lunch. For questions or to join our wait list, please call 843.722.2706 x241.
