Gibbes in the News: April & May 2018

At the end of April, USA Today ranked the Gibbes Museum as the #1 Museum in South Carolina on their list of best museums in every state.

In the annual “Best of Charleston” awards presented by Charleston City Paper, the Gibbes was ranked the Best Museum in Charleston.

My Domaine suggested the Gibbes Museum as the first stop for visitors’ trips to Charleston.

Indulge Magazine mentioned the Gibbes as a top place to “SEE & DO & READ”.

Prior to the ninth-annual Street Party, CHS Today and Charleston City Paper highlighted the event.

The Post and Courier shared photos from the Gibbes Street Party on their Instagram and Twitter, as well as sharing an online visual gallery.

Charleston Magazine also recapped this year’s Street Party including a slideshow of moments captured by MCG Photography throughout the evening.

The Post and Courier shared a time-lapse video of artist Radcliffe Bailey installing his Storm at Sea, on view on the third floor of the Gibbes through September 16, as well as a Q&A with the artist about his exhibition.

Looking forward to upcoming exhibitions, Adam Parker featured Vanishing Charleston in the Post and Courier.

Charleston City Paper highlighted Julyan Davis’s upcoming residency at the Gibbes while the Post and Courier featured the Gibbes’ most recent Visiting Artist, Fran Palazuelos, and her Artist Choice Tour.

The Gibbes hosted its last Garden Concert of the spring season and was lauded as one of the best outdoor venues in the city by Charleston Scene. The Post and Courier and Charleston City Paper both highlighted the garden concert as well.
