Artist Statement:
My art practice is rooted in the exploration and extension of my materials. In my work, I merge collage, screenprint, paint, ink, glass, and mylar, as well as other materials. What started as painting on glass has gradually expanded to include making large mixed-media works and installation.
The content of my work has shifted over time, but at its core it has always been an expression of my efforts to understand the nature of what we think of as “true” or “real”.
From initially being expressed by ideas around memory, to shifting more to exploring identity formation and our response to constant content, I am obsessed with the commingling of the real and the fake, the innate and the constructed.
The recent addition of creating hand-made wallpapers and installations has pushed the work forward and opened up more possibilities.
