Charleston Renaissance Walking Tour

Due to popular demand, we've added a second date for this wonderful walking tour. Walk in the footsteps of Alice R. H. Smith and other artists of the Charleston Renaissance with Sue Bennett of Walk Charleston, LLC, a licensed tour guide and trained docent of the Gibbes. Begin and end your experience at the Gibbes to see the artwork by Smith and others, and explore the places and personal stories behind their practices.

The tour will begin at the Gibbes Museum of Art in the Art Sales Gallery for welcome and orientation. From there, participants will go on a 1-hour walk of the neighborhoods surrounding these artists. After the walking tour, participants will enjoy a guided tour of Japonsime in Charleston: Alice Smith and Her Circle.
