To celebrate the opening of our newest exhibition Picturing Freedom: Harriet Tubman and the Combahee River Raid, join Sara Arnold, director of curatorial affairs, for a conversation with key figures behind the major exhibition. Dr. Edda Fields-Black will discuss her groundbreaking research and recent publication, alongside contemporary artists J. Henry Fair and Stephen Towns, and guest curator Dr. Vanessa Thaxton-Ward. We will explore why artists continue to turn to images of Harriet Tubman and the Combahee River region to express ideas of freedom and legacy. A book signing will follow.
