Full Day Camps for Ages 6-10

June 12-16: Summer STEAM 
Art, science, and experimentation come together in this camp classic. Campers will play with paint and other materials in new ways as they create unique works of art that stimulate the mind in more ways than one.

June 26-30: Face Time
Portraits come in many shapes and sizes, and our campers will explore different artists who work in this genre and create some of their own. Projects will be inspired by the exhibition Beverly McIver: Full Circle, who pushes the boundaries of portraiture and self-portraiture, works in the permanent collection, and noteworthy portraits around from around the world.

July 10-14: Ooh la la! French Art and Artists
This week we'll travel to France to explore the artists and artwork that we both know well and some that we might discover for the first time. From Monet to the Eiffel Tower, this week will capture the minds and hearts of Francophiles.

July 17-21: World of Art-venture

Join Clare Pernice, author, illustrator, and educator at the Museum of Illustration in New York, for this exciting week where campers will create characters while developing their own stories and settings.

June 5-9: Radical Rainforests, Ages 4-6
Jaguars, boas, and crocodiles, oh my! This week we'll explore the many different animals from rainforests around the world and talk about ways to protect them.

June 21-23*: Wham! Pop Art and Superheroes, Ages 4-6

This three-day camp will have our youngest artists creating their own superheroes and learning about Pop art and how they can save the planet themselves.

In this 3-day camp, young artists will learn about different fiber arts from punch needle to embroidery and working with felt with past Visiting Artist Daisy McClellan

June 26-30: Camp to Dye For with Daisy McClellan, Ages 8-10
Past Visiting Artist Daisy McClellan will demonstrate different dyeing techniques for campers to experiment with while creating their own unique works of art. From ice dying to natural dyeing and even bleach dyeing, this is certain to be a colorful camp experience.

July 10-14: Capturing the World Around You
Inspired by the captivating portraits in Beverly McIver: Full Circle and the abstracted landscapes of Damian Stamer: Ruminations, campers will explore the art of journaling and will create artwork that reflects their everyday lives.

This week, campers will explore plaster, printmaking and so much more as they dive into the world of mixed media artwork.

Half Day Camps for Ages 11-14

June 5-9: Composition and Texture with Visiting Artist Robin Howard, Ages 11-14
Learn the foundations of three-dimensional assemblage art and will make their own assemblage box or animal sculpture (or both!). Visiting Artist Robin Howard will demonstrate how to use composition, texture, color, mark-making, and more to combine everyday objects into artful constructions.

June 21-23*: Weave Here, Weave There with Kristy Bishop, Ages 11-14
*Note: this camp meets Wednesday-Friday due to the Juneteenth Federal Holiday
Weaving is not an indoor sport, it can go anywhere!  Campers will spend the week learning to weave on back strap looms, rigid heddle looms, and inkle looms which are portable and create amazing patterns.  These looms are simple yet can create complex designs.  Band weaving goes back thousands of years because there are so many uses.  Campers will make chokers, bracelets, shoelaces, purse straps, and artwork!
1pm-4pm: $140 Members | $150 Non-Members

July 31-August 4: Invisible Ink: Printing and Painting with Natural Dyes with Kristy Bishop, Ages 11-14
Campers will spend the week learning how to block print, paint and screen print mordants (dye binders) and mordanted natural dyes directly onto fabric and clothing.  This technique goes back hundreds of years. Much of this process feels like creating art with invisible ink, but when dipped in the dye, the pattern is revealed.  Campers will create their own printing blocks and screen printing stencils for dyeing prismatic cloth.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If the student withdraws before 30 business days before the start of camp, tuition will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. Any student who withdraws within 30 days and up to 5 business days before the start of class, tuition will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. Students withdrawing from camp within 5 business days of the start of camp will be refunded tuition at half of the registration price. There are no refunds after the start of camp. Credit card and membership fees are nonrefundable.
