American Furniture: Craftsmanship and Conservation

Christopher Swan is senior conservator of wooden artifacts at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Virginia. Swan will share insights on traditional materials and construction techniques, and discuss technological advancements that impact the field of furniture conservation. His talk will feature examples that relate to works on view from the Barbara L. Gordon Collection of American Folk Art and The Rivers Collection of Southern Decorative Arts.
