Collage Transfer on Glass Workshop with Dorothy Netherland

Use your own and supplied images to create a unique mixed-media piece on glass, through experimenting with collage and photo transfer.

Artist Dorothy Netherland will instruct you on how to collage and layer imagery from a variety of sources, using the gel medium method of transferring imagery. This technique allows you to combine your chosen images, be it photos, drawings or illustrations,  into a seamless collage with visual textures and semi-transparent layers, adding depth and complexity to your individualized piece. 

While photo transfer can be applied to a variety of surfaces, in this workshop we will be creating our piece under glass, which is a particularly receptive and beautiful surface for this kind of art. Participants may also paint onto their piece, and make their resulting artwork as simple or as complex as they want. This is a really fun way to make a completely unique and beautiful art piece. All materials will be supplied, including random imagery from magazines. Participants are encouraged to bring personal or found imagery with them which can be made into copies during the workshop for use in their piece.
