José Bedia

Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, José Bedia moved to Miami in 1993. He creates paintings, sculpture, and mixed-media installations that explore his personal interpretations of tribal art, anthropology, mythology, philosophy, and traditions of indigenous American peoples. Bedia’s work is included in many important public collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Tate Modern.
