Top Chefs Create Colorful Cuisine for Gibbes Annual Street Party

Gibbes on the Street Party

CHARLESTON, S.C., April 20, 2018 – After a two-year, multi-million dollar renovation, the Gibbes Museum of Art will host its 9th Annual Street Party in celebration of its recently restored 112-year-old stately Beaux Arts home. This year, the all-star lineup of Charleston chefs will be challenged to create a dish inspired by 2018 spring color trends exclusively for the Street Party.

The event will feature food from more than 20 local restaurants, in addition to an open bar and Gibbes signature cocktail. Inspired by the spring color trends on display, guests will have the chance to win original works of art by some of Charleston’s well-known artists.

“The Gibbes’ Street Party is without a doubt the best party of the year,” said Mickey Bakst, general manager of Charleston Grill. “This year’s dishes, infused with colorful spring hues, are guaranteed to reflect Charleston’s diverse food scene – in both look and taste.”

This year’s theme, “Paint Your Palate” seamlessly intertwines Charleston’s vibrant culinary culture with its rich artistic heritage. Menus will be based on the inspiration gleaned from each chef’s spring color palette of choice. “We are delighted to bring together the Charleston community for another spectacular street party at the Gibbes, where the culinary and artistic worlds of Charleston collide for one colorful evening of celebration,” said Jena Clem, special events manager at the Gibbes.
