Mary Whyte

Working South

In her recent body of work, renowned Charleston artist Mary Whyte captures the essence of vanishing blue-collar professions with exquisite detail and sensitivity. Mary Whyte: Working South features watercolor paintings and sketches that portray the dignity and resolve of industrial workers in ten states across the American South. The exhibition is accompanied by a full-color publication that includes an introduction by the artist.

Mary Whyte: Working South is made possible by the generous support of Gibbes, etc., BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, and Charleston magazine.
