The Gibbes Museum partners with the Charleston Music Hall to bring outstanding live music performances to the Lenhardt Garden. Bring a picnic and a lawn chair and arrive early to find a spot – or reserve a premium table – and enjoy a plein-air performance under the setting sun. Cash bar available on site*.

The Women & series is the brainchild of local musicians Lindsay Holler and Hazel Ketchum. This show will consist of a 90 minute set with a variety of vocalists paying homage to the late American singer, songwriter, and civil-rights activist Sam Cooke.

Featured singers include Zandrina Dunning, Aisha Kenyetta, Christian Smalls, Exavia Baxter, Hazel Ketchum, and Lindsay Holler; with band members Ron Wiltrout on drums, George Baerreis on bass; Tyler Ross on guitar, and Sam Sfirri on keyboard.

Doors open at 5:30 with an opening performance by students from the Allegro Charter School of Music; Women & Sam Cooke begins at 6:30pm for a 90 minute set. Tickets include Museum admission.

Tickets: $20 Members | $25 Non-Members

There will be a limited number of tickets for sale at the door. Additionally, a limited number of chairs will be available for rent at the event for $5 on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Garden Concert Series is sponsored by the Speedwell Foundation, BB&T, Awendaw Green, and Charleston Magazine, Monster Music & Movies.

*Please note that alcohol may not be brought on premises by guests. This is a change in policy from previous concerts and ticket prices have been adjusted to account for this change.
